Floating Meditations II, Regional One Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee, 3'x14' and 3'x18'

Floating Meditations is about transcendence above all boundaries into a space of one’s own from where one creates new realities.

Material yet intangible, universal yet in a space of their own in between the sky and the ground, clouds drift across the sky changing formations. Similarly, the perforated screen carvings blur boundaries, existing in between spaces, the continuously repeating patterns symbolizing universal harmony and infinity.

Carving fragments of geometric patterns assembled in organic cloud shapes combine apparently incongruous elements to create new structures. It is metaphor for transcending boundaries to create new realities from different parts, symbolizing a renewal of life.
